The latest has just been published by ESET researchers who have analysed BlackLotus. 

Blacklotus is a bootkit (malicious infection) capable of disabling operating system security mechanisms such as BitLocker, HVCI and Windows Defender and deploying its own kernel or user mode payloads in the early stages of operating system boot.

This is a very powerful threat, as it gives the attacker full control over the operating system boot process.

This only confirms what we already know, that operating system and web browser protection systems are not sufficient to fully protect Internet users.

This is why an external defence system is necessary as a first barrier against computer attacks.

And if this first defence acts in depth, as ARCHANGEL NGFW does, the security will be optimal, because for a virus to infect a system or a single computer, it will have to pass through the new generation firewall and will be stopped before it can even reach its target.
